You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep in your heart these words that I am commanding you today. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7) Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Children and Youth Education Young people are an extremely valuable part of the life of St. Andrew. Children and youth are warmly encouraged to participate in Worship, Sunday School and other Educational opportunities, and Fellowship activities. Children’s Ministry A Children's Sermon is offered during every Sunday morning in the later Worship Service. Children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for an interactive, fun message related to the day's Scripture. Parents, look forward to the memories of silly, embarrassing things your 'angels' say here!!! St. Andrew’s Childrens's Sunday School program is very interactive. Children engage Biblial stories and values through arts & crafts, storytelling, drama, cooking, singing, gardening, service and more! Preschoolers through 6th Graders start their morning together with prayer, song, Scripture and a mission offering. They follow with very diverse and age-appropriate activities and conversation. Our children's classes use the Live B.I.G. curriculum. Check out the full Sunday School schedule here. Family First Sunday is a chance for all of God's children to worship together. Family First happens on the first Sunday of the month, so young people can join their families in the celebration of Communion. Children have special pages in their activity books to follow along with the sermon, and the service is crafted so as to especially include children. Kids' Time is available during worship for children 4 years of age through 3rd grade, on nearly all Sundays, except Family First Sundays. Kids' Time follows the Children's Sermon in the 10:45am service. Music and games, Bible stories, arts and crafts, play and other activities bring the day's Scriptural lessons to life. Vacation Bible School happens each summer, with Mountain View Methodist and First United Methodist. This summer we had over 125 Rainforest Adventureres! Check back next summer for information and a registration form. The Neighborhood Build happens each year, a chance for families and children to gather together for creativity, laughs and neighborliness. Some years we have Hedda Sharapan, former Producer for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, lead our Build. Every year we have children turn empty boxes and simple art supplies into grand neighborhoods! Youth Ministry The St. Andrew High School Youth Group (3:16 Teens!) and Middle School Youth Group (3:13 Teens!) invite all young people from 6th through 12th Grades to live the joy of Christ by doing justice, showing compassion, and walking humbly with God. Most Sunday afternoons, at 3:13 or 3:16 pm, the Middle, High, or both groups meet in the youth room. Why those obscure times? Because some of the most amazing verses have 3:13 and 3:16 addresses, and we want to remember easily how church is in our lives! Check out the Youth Calendar to see what activities we have planned to make Christ meaningful in the lives of our young people. Click here to go to the youth group MySpace! Sunday Mornings youth are invited to help teach the Children's Sunday School, participate in the Life Issues Sunday School or Bible Video class, or join the Choir. Confirmation Class for 8th-9th Graders will be offered in the spring of 2010. How great that so many of our 2007 Confirmation Class is still so active! The Youth Group travels to Mission Trips and Presbyterian Youth Conferences every summer, a Ski and Worship Retreat every winter, a Youth Sunday planning retreat every spring, Highlands Camp retreats in the early and late winter, a Ski Day in early and late winter, and tons of fun, service, educational events through the year!

Adult Education Life Issues Class addresses various topics of contemporary Christian interest, including spirituality, current events, Presbyterian particulars, environmental justice, family and so much more! Classes meet September 10 through May 20 at 9:30 am in the Community Room. All adults (middle school aged and older) are invited to participate! Click on the Life Issues Schedule for a list of topics and presenters. Bible Video Class meets in our Parlor. Lew and Gerry lead a discussion based on fascinating videos that probe the Bible, using history and archaelogy. All adults (middle school aged and older) are invited to participate! Click on the Video Schedule for a list of video presentations. A Summer Education Series is lead by Hansen each July/August, for 4-5 weeks, after worship. Two years ago we dug into Deuteronomy's message to present-day America, using Walter Brueggamann's book, Mandate to Difference. This summer we studied TULIP, the colorful acronym that describes Presbyterian theology. Next summer, we will look at the writings and influence of John Calvin, for his 500th birthday. All adults (middle school aged and older) are invited to participate! In the Lenten Film Series, Stan will use his film degree for next year's 30-something-th Lenten film series. Friday nights in Lent, folks are invited to join in the Davis Media Center for films that highlight a special Christian topic. Last year the theme was Hope, with Hollywood, independent, and Japanese films. For this Lent's lineup, please call the office. Our Tuesday Study Group meets each Tuesday morning at 9:30 am in the Parlor, led by the Pastor. Please call the church office for more details. A new Book Club meets each month for dinner and conversation. Call the office to find out which book they are reading now, and when you can come!
