Hansen grew up in Arkansas, and lived most recently in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he received his Master of Divinity Degree from Boston University.  He has experience as a CE Director in Tampa, FL and worked with youth as a Ministerial Intern in Waban, MA.  Hansen loves the outdoors, and feels a special call to camp and conference ministry.  He has served in many capacities at Montreat Presbyterian Conference Center in Montreat, NC; at Camp Wilmot (Presbyteries of Boston and New England) in Wilmot, NH; and at Highlands Camp in Allenspark, CO.  Currently he writes youth curriculum for the Presbyterian Church (USA).  Outside of St. Andrew, Hansen coaches for the Boulder Community Rowing club. ]

The Rev. Stanley E. Adamson, D.Min.

My prayer for you is that your faith may be vibrant and alive, and that you can find a place to serve Christ in this rapidly changing world, as we live into the 21st century. I try to make my sermons relevant and biblically based, helping you cope with the challenges of your life, and challenging you to reach out to your neighbors in friendship and service. Following Jesus Christ is just as great an adventure today as it has always been. Being a faithful disciple, walking in God's peace, love and justice, is aided by our being part of a stimulating and supportive community of faith. I can truthfully say that St Andrew Church is the most exciting community of Christians I have ever had the privilege to serve. I think you, too, will find your faith deepened and enriched, and your life more rewarding and richer if you become part of this great congregation.

Our Pastor grew up in southern California, where he was a graduate of the UCLA Film School in 1970. During his time at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, he served as Youth Director of the Japanese Union Church of Los Angeles, a union Presbyterian and United Church of Christ congregation, and as a lay assistant at Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Church. He began his ordained ministry in Jetmore, Kansas, where he served 1973-1980. While there he also served the Synods of Mid-America as Moderator of the Advisory Council on Church and Society. He was a commissioner to the General Assemby of the United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America in Cincinnati in 1980. He served 1st Presbyterian Church of Halstead, Kansas, 1980-1987, and since 1987 has been Pastor of St. Andrew Church in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Adamson holds the Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, with a specialization in Church Revitalization. He is a past Moderator of the Presbytery of Plains and Peaks.

Stan Adamson has a particular interest in the positive relationship between science and religion; St. Andrew has hosted three sermon and lecture series on science and religion, with members of the congregation and the larger community.

Stan's interests include travel, horsemanship, hiking, backpacking and mountaineering, reading and writing, film, photography and railroading. He is married to Clare, a nurse at the Boulder Surgery Center. The Adamsons have four grown sons, and seven grandsons.
