St Andrew Presbyterian Church, Boulder, CO

A Congregation for Peace and Justice

Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy...  For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day. (Exodus 20.8, 11)

Now that day was the Sabbath...  And Jesus answered them, "My Father is still working, and I also am working."  (John 5.9b, 17)

Sunday Worship and Fellowship

St. Andrew offers two worship services, at 8:30 and 10:45, between Labor Day and Memorial Day, along with Christian Education opportunities for all ages.  In the summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day inclusive, we have one 9:30 am Summer Service. Outdoor Services are held on the second Sunday in June, July and August.

Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.

Children and Youth are an important part of our worship life every Sunday. Young people often lead different aspects of worship.  See the Children and Youth Ministry page for information about their special opportunities in education and worship.

Our Adult Choir sings from the Choir Loft during the 10:45 service from September through May. See the Music Ministry page for additional inforamation. In the Fall of 2005 we added a Celtic Ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead worship periodically in the Celtic vein in the 10:45 service; and in the Fall of 2007 we added a Praise Team, who lead worship quarterly in the praise tradition.

Sunday Education

Children's Christian Education

A Children's Sermon is offered every Sunday morning in the later Worship Service (10:45, or in the summer at 9:30). Children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for an interactive, fun message related to the day's Scripture. Parents, look forward to the memories of silly, embarrassing things your 'angels' say here!!!

St. Andrew’s Children's Sunday School program is very interactive.  Children engage Biblial stories and values through arts & crafts, storytelling, drama, cooking, singing, gardening, service and more!  Preschoolers through 5th Graders have these fun activities following the Children's sermon.  They follow with very diverse and age-appropriate activities and conversation.  THE THEME FOR SUMMER 2010 is "Favorite Bible Stories."  Check out the full Sunday School schedule here.

CHURCH SCHOOL is available during worship for children every Sunday.  Church School follows the Children's Sermon in the worship service. Music and games, Bible stories, arts and crafts, play and other activities bring the day's Scriptural lessons to life.

Adult Christian Education

Life Issues Class addresses various topics of contemporary Christian interest, including spirituality, current events, Presbyterian particulars, environmental justice, family and so much more!  Classes meet September 10 through May 23 at 9:30 am in the Community Room. All adults (middle school aged and older) are invited to participate!  Click on the Life Issues Schedule for a list of topics and presenters.

Bible Video Class meets in our Parlor. Lew and Gerry lead a discussion based on fascinating videos that probe the Bible, using history and archaelogy.  All adults (middle school aged and older) are invited to participate!  Click on the Video Schedule for a list of video presentations.

Youth Christian Education

The St. Andrew High School Youth Group (3:16 Teens!) and Middle School Youth Group (3:13 Teens!) invite all young people from 6th through 12th Grades to live the joy of Christ by doing justice, showing compassion, and walking humbly with God. Most Sunday afternoons, at 3:13 or 3:16 pm, the Middle, High, or both groups meet in the youth room. Why those obscure times? Because some of the most amazing verses have 3:13 and 3:16 addresses, and we want to remember easily how church is in our lives!  Check out the Youth Calendar to see what activities we have planned to make Christ meaningful in the lives of our young people.

Sunday Mornings youth are invited to help teach the Children's Sunday School, participate in the Life Issues Sunday School or Bible Video class, or join the Choir.

Nursery Care

For children three years old and younger, our professionally staffed Nursery is open during all Sunday morning worship and educational programs.  Suzanne and Carolyn are fantastic!
